Beekeeping

Following the June meeting of the Rochester Beekeepers Club, new beekeepers were instructed on how to properly check for mites in the hives. The hives at Tinker were checked and were found to be in good order with very low mite levels.

School Tours

The Hansen Nature Center recently finished with school tours from the Rush-Henrietta School District. We were pleased to have visits from all the 1st grade classes in the district. Tinker Nature Park was also the host of the week long Field Camp for R-H Middle Schools - Burger and Roth 7th grade, with each field station being taught by students from the R-H Senior High School.

Spring Activity

More signs that Spring is in full swing at Tinker Nature Park:

Thank you to Bill Cooper for tending to the Tinker Nature Park Sign at the Corner of Calkins and Pittsford-Henrietta Town Line Road.  The Garden Tinkers have also finished the plantings at the Tinker Homestead. The new Community Garden Project has taken off, with many of the beds having been planted. Water service is in progress and the fence is on location , to be put up after the water line is finished.
