Christmas Tree Recycling

Another year has come and gone, and at Tinker Nature Park we welcomed in the New Year with our annual Christmas tree recycling event. Hundreds of trees were dropped off and mulched. Not only does this provide our trails with a fresh layer of mulch in the Spring, but it keeps the trees out of landfills.

Into the chipper it goes!

Children watched in awe as their Christmas trees were ground up into tiny bits.

In addition to Christmas trees, canned goods were collected for the Rush-Henrietta Area Food Terminal. Thanks to everyone who donated! Because of your generous support, we were able to fill the town station wagon full of food.

A huge thank you to Baker's Tree and Landscape, who provided us with equipment and manpower for the event, and the Friends of Tinker Nature Park for all of their help. It would not have been a success without them!
